ACT Artistic Director’s latest production wins top prize at the 5th Avenue High School Theater Awards

The Academy of Children’s Theatre is proud to announce that our new Artistic Director, Deb Donahoe, working alongside an equally gifted Peggy Painter, directed the Hanford High musical, Drowsy Chaperone. This show was received nine different nominations  and three honorable mentions at The 5th Avenue Awards this year. Their hard working cast and crew of 41 students was awarded Best Overall Musical for Washington State this school year out of 105 musical productions from 88 different high schools in the state that entered the competition! We are honored here at ACT to have Deb amongst us. And she says she feels equally honored to be here. She has expressed her enthusiasm to reach out to the community’s kids and get them interested in all aspects of the arts. Congratulations Deb and welcome! Written by Annika Rose Rex
