This is small 9 person ensemble show telling the story of the contestants of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. All of the characters are unique, loveable and extremely entertaining. The demands for each actor are huge. Some actors play multiple parts, all actors dance, and everyone has at least one solo song.
Because of the unique nature of the show auditions are going to run as follows: January 14th and 15th 6-7:30pm both nights
All who audition will be required to sign up for a 2 minute audition slot. Everyone will be required to prepare a 90 second audition consisting of a song and a monologue. The song must come from a published musical and the monologue must come from a published play or musical. All auditioning must provide accompaniment for the audition.
A callback list will be posted on the ACT website by 8:30pm on the 15th
Callbacks will be January 16th from 6-8pm — All actors called back will have access to callback songs and monologues starting the morning of the 16th in the ACT office. All actors called back will be taken through a dance audition, readings, singing and improv. Please come to the callback dressed to dance.
