This week, local artist and educator Anna Newbury presents Rasa Boxes. Rasa Box work is a physical acting and movement study that uses holistically trains the breath, body, and emotions. It is influenced by performance theory, neuroscience, and the work of Antonin Artaud, combined with the rasas (Sanskrit for ‘essence’) of classical Indian aesthetics.
The first session includes dance, improv, selecting a musical number for auditions, followed by tap, an in depth look at the monologue, stage combat, and Shakespeare in the second session. All classes are taught by local artists.
Classes are $20 walk-in or $80 for a 5 class pass. Special kick-off rate September 15 is only $5!
